Fans of extreme movement and storming of insurmountable fords, mountains, rocks, rapids and other types of off-road rejoicing. The car giant Mercedes introduced the phenomenal E-class All-Terrain 4×4 2 station wagon with a clearance of 42 cm. The model, raised above the ground, has a luxurious E-class body, while relying on massive R20 wheels with brutal and intimidating 285/50 rubber on spikes, enclosed in individually designed and 3D-printed wheel extensions, protruding 4 cm each on the sides of the body.
The gantry bridges supported by the Mercedes E-class All-Terrain 4×4 2 were designed individually for the 2017 new car, since the G500’s 4×4 2 G-class did not fit the size. The suspension of the prototype model, the basic E—class station wagon, has also been modified. The front and rear tracks were widened, and stiffer subframes were installed, plus bearings manufactured by Motors Unibal. There is a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system with an electronically controlled multi-disc clutch, a more rational scheme for installing the driveshaft, over which the engineers from Eberle broke their heads.
In addition to the record height of the ground clearance of 42 cm, the Mercedes E-Class All-Terrain 4×4 2 is distinguished by impeccable geometry of the passage: the exit angle is 35.6, the entrance is 35.8, the ramp is 31.7 degrees, the depth of the ford is 59 cm.
The Mercedes All-Terrain 4×4 2 E-Class station wagon, sublime in every sense, is powered by a powerful 333-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine and a 9G TRONIC automatic transmission.
Alas, the model is still a test model and came off the assembly line in a single copy, but thoughts of small-scale production are already flying in the air at the leadership of the German company.
